VIRTUAL FORUM -Missoula Mayoral Debate

Missoula’s incumbent mayor and three candidates seeking to unseat him will make their respective cases at City Club Missoula on Monday, August 9, virtually via Zoom Video Conferencing. The debate, featuring incumbent John Engen and candidates Jacob Elder, Greg Strandberg and Shawn Knopp, will be moderated by Missoulian Opinion Editor, Tyler Christensen. The audience will have an opportunity to pose questions.

Missoula’s primary election is set for September 14, 2021. Two mayoral candidates will advance to the general election November 2.

Due to the unpredictability of the Covid-19 Delta variant and the lack of concrete public health information, the City Club Missoula board has decided to move our August forum to virtual attendance via Zoom. This decision has not come easy and I understand that this is an inconvenience for all. But, with the potential of 300 people congregating in the same room and no mask mandate, we have chosen to err on the side of caution and put the health and safety of the Missoula community first. We look forward to hosting our normal, in person operations at the Doubletree when we can.
